“you can’t do that because of my religious beliefs”
not okay
Morality is not subjective. If the Bible says x is wrong, x is wrong whether you are a Christian or not. You’re not exempt from the truth because you don’t believe it.
Except if you’re not a Christian you don’t believe that the bible is truth so….
Yeah and if you’re colorblind you don’t think the sky is blue.
The sky is blue whether you believe it or not. The Bible is true whether you believe it or not.
The sky is actually black. You specifically perceive it as blue and a colorblind person may perceive it as orange or grey. A mantis shrimp sees it as colors that you cant even comprehend.
I’ve noticed that many white libertarians stop believing in liberty and freedom the moment that a non white person is being negatively affected by the power of the state.
When governments raise taxes they cry out, “Don’t tread on me!”, “Tax is theft!”, etc. But when a black man is choked to death…
Thank you for putting this out there. I had to stop donating to Molyneux because of this. What’s really annoying is that I feel black people need to embrace a lot of these libertarian principles but the people who stand closest to them are (suspected) white supremacists.
“I don’t blame no Black women in this audience for your son making bad mistakes. I blame all the lazy ass Black men who saw you struggling with that boy for 10, 15 years and ain’t lift a hand to help you. That’s who I blame. It ain’t the single mother’s fault, it’s the community’s fault. What is the church doing to help them single mothers? What are you so-called revolutionaries doing to help them single mothers? What are you integrationists with your 501C3 grants doing to help them mothers? Don’t blame it on mothers. If we claim to be a community then we all responsible. Every child who dies that’s all of us. Only reason why you pointing fingers is because you don’t want no damn accountability.”—
“Capitalism is relatively new in human history. Prior to capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering, and enslaving their fellow man. Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving your fellow man.”—Walter E Williams (via moralanarchism)
“To love is to value. Only a rationally selfish man, a man of self-esteem, is capable of love—because he is the only man capable of holding firm, consistent, uncompromising, unbetrayed values. The man who does not value himself, cannot value anything or anyone.”—Ayn Rand - The Romantic Manifesto (via moralanarchism)
“Liberty not only means that the individual has both the opportunity and the burden of choice; it also means that he must bear the consequences of his actions….Liberty and responsibility are inseparable.”—Friedrich A. von Hayek (via quotes-shape-us)
“All the men who have vanished, the men you hated, yet dreaded to lose, it is I who have taken them away from you. Do not attempt to find us. We do not choose to be found. Do not cry that it is our duty to serve you. We do not recognize such duty. Do not cry that you need us. We do not consider need a claim. Do not cry that you own us. You don’t. Do not beg us to return. We are on strike, we, the men of the mind.
“We are on strike against self-immolation. We are on strike against the creed of unearned rewards and unrewarded duties. We are on strike against the dogma that the pursuit of one’s happiness is evil. We are on strike against the doctrine that life is guilt.
“There is a difference between our strike and all those you’ve practiced for centuries: our strike consists, not of making demands, but of granting them. We are evil, according to your morality. We have chosen not to harm you any longer. We are useless, according to your economics. We have chosen not to exploit you any longer. We are dangerous and to be shackled, according to your politics. We have chosen not to endanger you, nor to wear the shackles any longer. We are only an illusion, according to your philosophy. We have chosen not to blind you any longer and have left you free to face reality-the reality you wanted, the world as you see it now, a world without mind.
“We have granted you everything you demanded of us, we who had always been the givers, but have only now understood it. We have no demands to present to you, no terms to bargain about, no compromise to reach. You have nothing to offer us. We do not need you.

Original: I know how you feel… growing up I didn’t see anyone with the type of life I envied or admired and might have wanted to use as a template (in terms of career, romantic, family). I’ve come to realise, self-knowledge is more important than role models (which is why I’m more into philosophy nowadays)
Having a support network or a personal ‘council’ of people in your life who you trust to give you honest feedback that’s genuinely for your benefit is also very important (and something I working on myself)
Reply: Ideally, you would look up to your parents and put them on your 'council’ as they’ve known you since you were born but not everyone can do this.
From my experience, you attract like-minded people by living your values. The deeper you live them, the stronger the attraction.
Be careful, your saying that you don’t want 'followers’ but are you looking for someone to follow yourself???
